Our diocesan youth event, Genesis, is provided as a launching point for your congregational youth ministry efforts and programs. It explores a basic understanding of Christianity and focuses on Christian community and relationship. This year’s theme is Genesis 2010: Faithbook and will engage participants in how our current practice of technological social networking (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, blogs, text messages, instant messages, chat rooms) informs our understanding of and relationship with Jesus. (WYFJ? Would you friend Jesus? And what might that mean and look like?) We are really excited about developing this theme and it is sure to provide new and innovative program pieces, so please mark your calendars and plan on joining in! Genesis 2010: Faithbook takes place October 15-17, 2010 at Frontier Ranch in Buena Vista, CO and costs $120 per person. It is open to 6th-12th grade youth, who must attend with an adult leader(s) from your congregation. Registration and scholarship information will be available in August.
In April, the diocese acquired a beautiful 156-acre property, just outside of Woodland Park, that will become a place set apart for conferences, retreats, and summer youth adventures in the days ahead. To learn more about Cathedral Ridge, click here.

Summer Volunteer Opportunities at Cathedral Ridge
Recently, Bishop O’Neill announced the purchase of the new Diocesan camp and conference center property near Woodland Park. It is a wonderful facility and this summerwill be your first opportunity to experience it and help build it up to become, in Bishop O’Neill’s words, “a vital part of our life and ministry as a diocese.”
Our vision for the summer is to callpeople in the diocese together to Build a Place Set Apart. Through the many work projects that need to be completed to make the facility ready to welcome guests, we will work to lay the foundation for this wonderful new camp home for us and for the broader community. To build this foundation with love, prayer and care, we need help from you and your congregations – help from your hands, your hearts, your gifts, and some help from your wallets.
Please contact Erica Hein, Volunteer Coordinator, for more information about how you can be apart of this unique opportunity! There are many types of donations and volunteers that are needed, everything from tool donations and financial donations, from kitchen help to trail builders to skilled professionals such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and nurses.
