Genesis is a weekend retreat for churches and their 6th-12th grade youth with opportunities to meet new people, participate in some entertaining activities, enjoy awesome music by Read You and Me, and hear Jesus’ invitation to CRASH into Him and discover what the apostle Paul proclaimed: “that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new” (2 Cor. 5:18, The Message). It presents a basic introduction to the Gospel and is designed for those with little or no experience of Christianity or the church, while also providing opportunities for current disciples to renew their faith. It is a wonderful opportunity for leaders to invite new youth into their group and for teens to bring their friends. At the same time it is a wonderful time for youth groups to get together and grow as a community. We hope that the weekend will be a personal “genesis” in a life long journey that will help young people understand how they have been created as special and valued people with a unique purpose.
Youth Leaders… the weekend is often used by youth groups as a “genesis” for the year. Many use it as a chance to help develop a sense of community within their group and introduce new people to the group.
The event is scheduled for October 16-18, 2009 at the absolutely incredible Frontier Ranch near Buena Vista and will cost $115.00.
