Genesis weekends are designed to provide a fun, non-intimidating environment in which young people can discover and grow in their understanding of the Christian Gospel.
Genesis is a weekend retreat for 6th-12th grade youth (be sure that your grade 6 kids are ready for such a retreat) with opportunities to meet new people, participate in some entertaining activities, enjoy awesome music and hear about Jesus and the mysterious ways we participate in the life that He has in store for us.
It is a wonderful opportunity for you to invite new youth into your group and for your teens to bring their friends. At the same time it is a wonderful time for youth groups to get together and grow as a community. We hope that the weekend will be a personal “genesis” in a life long journey that will help young people understand how theyhave been created as special and valued people with a unique purpose.
Youth Leaders… the weekend is often used by youth groups as a “genesis” for the year. Many use it as a chance to help develop a sense of community within their group and introduce new people to the group.
