Our diocesan youth event, Genesis, is provided as a launching point for your congregational youth ministry efforts and programs. It explores a basic understanding of Christianity and focuses on Christian community and relationship. This year’s theme is Genesis 2010: Faithbook and will engage participants in how our current practice of technological social networking (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, blogs, text messages, instant messages, chat rooms) informs our understanding of and relationship with Jesus. (WYFJ? Would you friend Jesus? And what might that mean and look like?) We are really excited about developing this theme and it is sure to provide new and innovative program pieces, so please mark your calendars and plan on joining in! Genesis 2010: Faithbook takes place October 15-17, 2010 at Frontier Ranch in Buena Vista, CO and costs $120 per person. It is open to 6th-12th grade youth, who must attend as a group with an adult leader(s) from your congregation. Registration and scholarship information will be available in August.
