Commission on Ministry

Initiation of Aspirancy

Individuals wishing to begin a more formal process of discernment must have at least two years of active participation in a faith community within the Diocese and be confirmed for at least one year. His or her rector or vicar should request training.

Once training is complete, please return this form to the Office of the Bishop.

The Aspirant needs to meet regularly with a spiritual director.

Aspirants for the diaconate are also required to complete one unit of ACPE certified Clinical Pastoral Education as part of the discernment process.
